Is your workplace psychologically safe?

Last week, I attended a great online webinar about psychological safety in the workplace. This event was hosted by the Institute of Community Directors Australia, who provide excellent resources for For-Purpose Organisational Boards.

During the webinar, we learned about the financial and productivity benefits for organisations that have a psychologically safe workplace. This might seem like yet another thing we ‘have’ to do in our business or organisation, but in fact you can start with a couple of simple steps. Just talking about your intention to create a psychologically safe workplace is a positive first step towards create the best conditions in your workplace for psychological wellbeing to thrive.

One excellent resource shared in the webinar is the below TED Talk from Amy Edmondson about building psychological safety.

Mental Health First Aid is as important as physical first aid, so if you need a mental health first aid officer in your workplace, check out my training here.
